Writing Portfolio
While working in film and TV production I became interested in screenwriting. I had the chance to participate in a couple of leading international script development programmes where my first feature screenplay received an award. Although it was never produced, I very much enjoyed the process of writing and developing it. My latest project, a social drama set in present-day London, was longlisted for the Euroscript Screen Story Competition 2024. In recent years I have expanded my writing to include autobiographical prose and poetry, and occasionally fiction. Below are some highlights of my writing work:
Catwalk ambitions, autobiographical short story, published in issue 12 of the Friends on the Shelf magazine, October 2025
Belle Eve and The Red Knight, feature film screenplay, longlisted for the Euroscript Screen Story Competition, 2024
Harold & Laila, short film, 2023 (co-writer); Winner Honorable Mention & Best Child Actress, Madras Independent Film Festival; Official Selection Jaipur Film World; Official Selection, Finalist Best Drama, RS Film Fest, Bristol
To Dream of Green Horses, feature film screenplay, 2020
Testimonial on immigrant experiences published in the third volume of In Limbo, a collection of Brexit testimonies from EU citizens living in the UK, edited by Elena Remigi, Véronique Martin, Tim Sykes, 2020
Landscape with Camel and Bear, feature film screenplay, 2012; Runner-up award for Best Screenplay, Manaki Brothers Film Festival, Macedonia; Training the Trainers programme with Midpoint Institute in Prague 2013

This poem, published online by the Royal Society of Literature as part of the project Write across London, came up during a writing exercise in December 2020, where the prompt was an object or food that we associated with lockdown.
